About Mrs. Seligman:
I love teaching second grade! Second graders are full of excitement, fascination, curiosity and love! I believe that “Character plus intelligence - that is the true goal of education.” (Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.) My hobbies are gardening and traveling. As much as I love learning about all subjects, my particular love is science! I also love traveling and have visited Guatemala, Mexico, Ecuador, Peru, parts of Europe and Uganda. I bring my observations, knowledge, and love of cultures to my classroom. My education: I have a B.S. in Horticulture, a masters in Elementary Education, and certifications in ESl (English as a Second Language, AIG (Academically/Intellectually Gifted) and National Board. My family: My family lived in California for 30 years. My husband, Andy, is a high school Engineering teacher. Our son, Nick, is a Financial Advisor, and our daughter Stephanie, is studying to be a Physician’s Assistant. Why the Sea Otter mascot? Being a former Californian, the Sea Otter, a native of the coastal Pacific waters, is endangered, but hopefully with education and action, we can change that status. Pets: At home, we have a dog, a cat, and fish. Our class has a 10 gallon fish tank. We sometimes have pet guests, and we feed the wild birds outdoors! |
